PORT TOWNSEND
A HARBOR TOWN COMMUNITY

The city of Port Townsend is one of only three Victorian seaports on the National Historic Register. The downtown waterfront area and the residential area above the bluff with its Victorian homes and commercial buildings are designated a National Historic District. It is known as the "City of Dreams" because of early speculation that the city would be the largest harbor on the west coast.
